Gileston Manor Wedding Inspiration
A vintage car, cascading flowers, a venue in the heart of Vale of Glamorgan (that has a Mediterranean feel) and an over the top floral headpiece (swoon!). I mean what’s not to love?
The whole point of a shoot for me as a photographer is to experiment, to test shoot and to slow things down ready for a real wedding day. It’s creative freedom for suppliers, while also giving couples planning some different ideas.
We wanted to use a softer colour palette for this Spring styled shoot, lots of pretty pinks and peaches, for the florals. While also using these softer colours together as bolder statement pieces. The floral head piece, a cascading bouquet and the blooms draped over the car bonnet.
The fun twists Rhian from Wild and Fabulous Flowers makes, means she uses the flowers in such a creative and modern way.
On a wedding day itself cars can often be needing to rush off. I love a wedding car, especially a vintage car, one full of character. For this shoot I really wanted to show how many photo opportunities we could create with a car. We wanted to use ‘Daisy’ the VW beetle from ‘VW Weddings Wales’ as a prop for photos, to really make use of it.
Having the couple snuggled in the back seat, framing the couple using the car doors around them. Placing our couple next to the most incredible installation by Wild and Fabulous flowers. The car becomes more than a car, it becomes another way to make unique and creative wedding photographs.
Our venue, Gileston Manor Estate really is something else, with so much to offer from the grounds to the house. From the outside to the inside, every aspect is the most perfect photo location.
For our table set up, we decided to use the actual house of Gileston Manor Estate rather than their larger marquee to really show our intimate wedding ideas. The table set amongst the most beautiful wallpaper and colours. Renovated by Lorraine the lady of the manor, all the rooms have been individually designed and styled. Sessy (also our stationer), put together our table set up, perfect for an intimate wedding.
Our wedding stationery was designed especially for this shoot by Paper Date Wedding Stationery. Sessy made the whole design fun, chic and modern. From the invites, save the dates to the menus. The tassel just gives the whole design a fun edge and adds so much to a table set up.
With the photography my approach is to always show the fun, the real moments, laughter and intimate moments, while also putting my own creative twist into the photos. Using aspects of a venue people might usually overlook or making use of a car for couple photos.
How very gorgeous!
