Just take a moment to picture a perfect summer’s day; dappled sunlight, zingy citrus fruits and refreshing cocktails. Sounds amazing doesn’t it? Well, lucky for you, I’m here to bring it to life.
This stunning editorial shoot set at Shotesham Park Weddings in Norfolk has been sent over to me by By Emma Olivia Photography. The vibe of the shoot was a Mediterranean feel with lavender and lemons. The end result was stunning thanks to a fantastic creative team who came together to showcase their talents beautifully.
There was elegant stationery, a divine outdoor tablescape, voluptuous blooms, stylish bride and groom looks as well as a geometric cake and sweet embroidered bows. There are so so many ideas here to take away, so be sure to take a slice of summer with you. Dreamy!
Shotesham Park Wedding Inspiration
After the new opening of Shotesham Park in 2023, as a destination wedding photographer I saw such potential to bring out its Italian villa feel and design the most beautiful and colourful Mediterranean editorial.
Choosing two bold but beautiful colours, we used lavender and lemons as a starting point and with a team of amazing suppliers, we brought Sicily to the heart of Norfolk.
For florals, The Gypsy Shed wanted to encapsulate the feeling of summer in the Mediterranean, by using Olive branches and a neutral base for the floral arrangements. Then building up colour with pops of lilacs and lavender.
The contrast between frilly Lisianthus and Scabiosa to the olive branches created lots of texture and depth within each piece. They were all finished with pastel fabric ribbons in keeping with the pretty summer palette.
For makeup, Emily took inspiration from the romantic dresses and the relaxed venue vibe. She created glowing skin and soft, natural defined eyes with a hint of mauvy brown to compliment the tones in the florals.
For hair, Hollie created a soft elegant updo, keeping it simple to allow the dresses to make the impact.
The stationery inspiration was to create a personalised element of the monogram with the couple’s initials and hand-drawn lavender illustration that has been used throughout the stationery on this shoot.
Featuring raw edge hand-torn recycled paper for the main invite, contrasting cardstock for the additional information and RSVP, accompanied with lavender-coloured envelopes.
For the 5-tier geometric cake, Imogen from Edge By Imogen Davison chose to create a tiled effect and combined that with subtly textured tiers, reminiscent of Mediterranean ceramics and weather-washed walls.
The delicate florals inspired my choice of lavender tones, painted in layers to give further depth. The simple decoration of structural twisted willow, olive branches and delicate florals were joined by a perfect passionflower and fresh lemons.
Finally, the wonderful styling was perfected by Aimee from The Blissful Bride, creating a luxury tablescape with embroidered bows from @theembroiderednapkincompany and a range of coloured candles to fit the theme.
Her show stopper was the white bookcase of welcome cocktails, accompanied by paper parasols and boozy citrus cocktails with a hint of lavender, bringing the ultimate summer vibes of a wedding in the Italian countryside.
This wonderful team brought my vision to life and I totally love the outcome.
What an inspirational shoot, wow!
