Colour Clash Wedding Ideas
Words by Victoria Sponge Photography
ARGH we’re so pleased to be sharing this styled shoot with you. This year I’m obsessed with colour clashes! I always aim to produce playful and authentic imagery that relaxed and colourful couples will relate to and strive to recreate themselves.
Kinmount House, nestled on the Scottish border is simply a stunning venue, with rolling landscapes, picturesque boating lake and beautifully kept manor house. It is used to more traditional and classic wedding vibes… that’s until we rocked up!
This traditional and perhaps unlikely setting embraced our massive injection of PINK, and even fulfilled my dream of shooting a wedding on a boat! The grounds are simply a playground for an excitable photographer…
Kinmount House is a grand traditional venue that manages to blend old with new which seemed like a marriage made in heaven… they even released the hounds to join in the fun!
Victoria, Kinmount’s wedding coordinator, values are kindred with mine. Our joint philosophy of making everyone’s wedding as unique as they are! A desire and passion to be inclusive and diverse made our collaboration a no-brainer.
The way I see it we’re here to inspire! I love nothing more than meeting couples ready to embrace a colourful wedding experience which is nothing but authentic to them. We simply encourage what they deem to be ‘crazy’ ideas and show them it is possible!
Eden of Dumfries florals also went far beyond expectation, the volume and depth of their arrangements were beautiful. But also offer huge versatility as they could be rearranged from the ceremony room, and bathing house as well as filling the backseat of The Love Bug DG’s super cute vintage car ‘Bonnie’!
Alyce Jayne Bridal shares;
When Victoria got in touch with the mood board for this gorgeous shoot I was so happy to be involved! I love her fun, candid photography style. I also loved the pops of colours in the mood board and knew the Candy (pink) tulle dress and Antheia (coral) short dress were perfect for a more alternative fun vibe.
I’m glad we also added in the ivory lace Paloma dress for some contrast. I love how it’s been styled with the bow veil for a modern vibe.
Victoria Sponge Photography continues;
Alyce’s selection of dresses were show stoppers in their own right, with gorgeous handpicked details and accessories lovingly provided by Garter & Veil. and modern makeup and styling from the extremely talented Laura Oddity Bridal.
BUT it was only fair to represent an equally as fun take on traditional Groom’s attire. Smart As Suits provided possibly the most dapper tux to compliment our more ‘romantic’ set-up. However when the postman delivered a very special hot pink suit from Boohoo Men (so hard to find a pink suit up North) I did a squeal of joy. Such a fun addition to our pink, carefree vibe.
Whenever it comes to styled shooting I call on industry friends. I have a vision, but know I want each collaborator to bring their own interpretation of the brief to the pass! This always keeps the concept and feel of styling hugely exciting and open to creativity.
Gems such as Autumn Rose Paper Co’s seating plan! The delicate envelopes with graduating shades of pink is simply stunning and something I’d never of dreamt.
When it came to decor Birdcages and Dragonflies & Imaginarium Balloon Studio’s cast their magic in gorgeous harmony, decorating both our ceremony and reception setups with pockets of out loud clashing colour whilst keeping things looking pretty classy! NOT TO MENTION the tassel transform Chloe from Imaginarium performed on Kinmount House’s own boat was a personal highlight!
Last but most definitely not least, cake designer, Frances and Rae cake design, interpreted the photoshoot theme with a stunning 3-tier design that featured an artistic and elegant style colour injection of pink, yellow and gold leaf!
Every detail was beautifully blended together to create a modern-day love story fit for any colourful pair of lovebirds to inspire too.
Oh my, how gorgeous!
A huge thank you to the superb team below for sharing with us these brilliantly creative colour clash wedding ideas.
