Prepare to be swept away by these images by Kera Photography as we delve into the enchanting world of an editorial that flawlessly blends the old and the new. With an eye for exquisite details and a touch of contemporary flair, this extraordinary shoot unfolds against the backdrop of a historic equestrian barn Cedarmont Farm, echoing whispers of equine legends and timeless traditions. Get ready to immerse yourself in a captivating narrative told beautifully through flowers by Larson Floral Co.
Every detail and moment captured in this editorial was intentional; from the time of year, colors we used, and guest experience elements we chose to illuminate. Our hope was to create something fresh, feminine, and luxurious, to inspire future couples getting married on a property with historic elements.
While it was important for us to create something spectacular in the historic reception barn, we wanted to ensure our designs could be executed in real life. Brittany with Cedarmont Farm pulled off the design flawlessly, curating a juxtapose design that complemented the historic features by bringing in bright, modern design elements such as the bold napkins from Southern Event Rentals and whimsically bouncy florals from Larson Floral Co.
Wedding Colors
Inspired by the Pantone color of the year, Brittany with Cedarmont Farm set out to incorporate magenta, and an ombre of bright pinks and peaches into the space by using textured magenta velvet napkins from Southern Events and cascading floral centerpieces from Larson Floral Co.
The taper blush candles added soft light while the movement of the floral arrangements kept the table design flowing without being overpowering.
The Venue
Cedarmont Farm might be one of the best kept secrets in Franklin, TN. Located just 30 minutes outside of Nashville, this all-inclusive venue sits on a historic piece of land that was an equestrian farm when the venue owner was a child.
The 100 yr old horse barn has been renovated into a modern event space with floor to ceiling windows, but still exudes historical charm and character with its original white oak walls and wooden beams.
There is also a historic home on the property featuring a beautiful library and grand piano; the perfect elegant backdrop for bride and groom portraits.
The Fashion
We opted for a simple classic, clean bridal gown from Lavender Park Bridal that would show off the flowing cape layer etched with pearls and ceremonial veil.
We loved the idea of incorporating a second outfit for the reception and styled our bride in a fitted midi dress with an open back, topped with a bow.
The delicate feathers on the hem of her dress are a playfully perfect match to her bold magenta pumps.
The Details
Brittany with Cedarmont Farm wanted the space to feel fresh, fun and whimsical by incorporating a lot of movement and modern textures into her design while also keeping it light and airy.
From the cascading draping to the winding floral centerpieces and ikebana bud vases, the reception design was constantly flowing without being overpowering.
The taper candles added soft light and the white earthen plates from Southern Events were a perfect contrast to the textured bright magenta velvet napkins.
The cake was another fun element of the day with quirky bright florals practically growing out of it.
For the cocktail hour space, she kept the fun modern vibe going with a pink champagne tower, cascading greenery over the bar and more movement-driven floral arrangements that made a big impact without being too over the top.
Crawling florals up the front of the barn once again complemented the historic structure while adding a modern colorful element and similar florals on the whitewashed frame at the ceremony site kept the design flowing and the bright florals lining the aisle added just the perfect pop of color to the lush green aisle.
Favorite Design Elements
Guest experience was an element that was top of mind for this design. The cocktail hour terrace featured a rose bud champagne tower where guests could sip their bubbly and enjoy the sunshine and mile-wide views of the property.
As guests enter the historic reception barn, large cascading drapery installs from Blue Nova framed the window of the event barn perfectly and completely transformed the space; creating a gorgeous contrast with the historic wooden barn beams.
Prior to dinner being served, pre-set limoncello palette cleansers greeted each guest as they took their seat, preparing for a divine-plated dinner by Dream Events and Catering.
For the “ceremony”, our real life couple were set just behind the event barn in front of a whitewashed life size picture frame, set against the lush green landscape. Bright crawling florals adorned the frame and were accented by the equally bright florals planted on either side of the aisle. We love the idea of framing the couple as they recite their vows, creating a picture-perfect opportunity for guests.
