Daisy Jones & The Six Wedding Ideas
This wedding-styled shoot is a celebration of Taylor Jenkin Reid’s bestseller and now TV show, Daisy Jones and the Six.
I’m a huge music fan and absolutely adore 1970s style, so it was a given I had to plan a shoot. I really wanted to focus on the 1970s orange and yellow tones, and just do a shoot with some rock’n’roll attitude!
I had come across The Iron Horse Ranch on Instagram a few months ago and just knew it had to be the location for this shoot. I loved its Americana feel and the wood-panelled interior with neon signs just felt like a rock’n’roll bar somewhere in the depths of the USA.
They host weddings so we used their ceremony space for a hand-fasting ceremony, and then set up an intimate sweetheart table in their outdoor area.
We were also lucky enough to have one of Iron Horse Ranch’s regulars let us borrow his VW Campervan to shoot with. We created a little photobooth-type setup with Persian rugs, crates and some of my Fleetwood Mac records.
To bring focus to the sweetheart table and add a little nod to Fleetwood Mac who the book is supposedly inspired by, Daydreamer Creative Studio created a bespoke cord banner. Moss and Bloom decorated the stand with her beautiful faux flower display.
For the table itself, Miss Carlysle And Co Events brought the 1970s feel with warm linen tones and woven placemats.
One of my favourite parts of this shoot was the stationery set Hollie Swinscoe Creative designed for us, which included gig tickets, guitar-shaped place cards and plectrum-shaped champagne toppers.
Lauren Siddons, an amazing make-up artist I’ve worked with previously, agreed to model for this shoot with her husband Liam. I had immediately thought of her as our Daisy! Based off set photos of Daisy Jones, she did her own make-up, with hair by Emma Thorpe, and Poppy Perspective created us a bespoke dress.
As well as the ceremony and sweetheart table, we set up a separate cake-cutting area using the banner. Ambers Bakes and Cakes created the most incredible shag wedding cake for us in true 1970s style!
Some of the embroidered elements in it even brought in the colour palette! We paired the dress with cowboy boots, jewellery and a tasselled bridal jacket from Melbelle. All of us on the shoot wanted to have a turn wearing it! It worked really well with the dress to create the feeling of freedom and movement I wanted with Daisy.
To be Adorned also created us some bespoke ‘Daisy’ earrings.
We finished off the shoot by getting some super rock’n’roll shots of Daisy and Billy on one of the venue’s bikes, loaned by Freedom Motorcycles.
