Chateau de Poudenas Wedding Inspiration
This project was born in my imagination a few years ago. It gradually took shape in my mind over the months. I dreamt of it so often that the images became real.
Through discussions and previous projects with Elia, the idea of realising it together arose, and I couldn’t imagine a better partner than her! It was meant to be.
With this photoshoot, I wanted to tell the story of a wedding day differently. I aimed to create carefully composed scenes, like paintings, and highlight the subjects by playing with light and shadow. I wanted to create photos with a dreamy atmosphere. To achieve this, I worked with shadows to envelop the subjects in diffused natural light.
The contours are soft, the colours are deep, blending subtly into each other in delicate gradients, as if their boundaries were slightly blurred, creating that characteristic “sfumato” effect found in Renaissance paintings.
This photo shoot also aimed to showcase the craftsmanship of various artisans. It was important for Elia and me to create still lifes that highlighted art objects, raw and natural materials, providing a play of textures, depth, and dimension in these paintings.
We also wanted to incorporate a vintage touch as a nod to the past, with silverware and cut glass, while ensuring it didn’t feel outdated. We truly wanted to reinterpret the past and give it a contemporary and timeless touch that one could genuinely envision at a wedding!
Each partner was carefully chosen by Elia, and what struck me was how each scene came to life before our eyes and how all the elements harmonised with each other in terms of colours, textures, and curves. All these delicate details complemented each other wonderfully.
The flower petals, the textured border of the fine art paper, and the pleats of the dress merged into one. Each piece responded to the others… Elia and I experienced everything so deeply that words seem insufficient to express the beauty of the moment.
We are passionate individuals, and each element had its importance, place, and role to play.
Oh wow! Does it get any more beautiful?!
