Few things in the world match the charm of the Cotswolds wedding – a stretch of historic villages nestled in the rolling hills of south-central England. Opposite views of sheep grazing in wide meadows are bubbling brooks, centuries-old pubs and quaint country roads sprinkled with privately owned gems like Euridge Manor. Today’s Cotswolds wedding feature tells the story of Daniella and Gabriel who, like many couples during the pandemic, faced the challenge of re-planning… and re-planning… and re-planning. Despite the constant pivoting, the intimate destination minimony that resulted could not have been more idyllic. In this luxury Cotswolds wedding venue, just outside Bath, D+G found a secret garden haven (as you’ll see yourself in these breathtaking shots from Captured by Katrina Photography below). While the views spoke for themselves, the setting was only enhanced even further by the blooms from Jill Jeffries. Exhibit A? The flower-bedecked rowboat! Shall we?
Cotswolds Wedding
From the Photographer, Captured by Katrina Photography: Daniella and Gabriel had their wedding just after the strictest covid restrictions in the UK were lifted. This meant they were only allowed 15 guests and added to this were the difficulties with travel restrictions as the couple are originally from Peru. Luckily, with just a couple of weeks to go Gabriel, the groom managed to get back to the UK and Daniella pulled together a wonderful team of suppliers she had pencilled in to create a truly stunning wedding.
The couple chose a stunning venue in the heart of The Cotswolds called Euridge Manor. This beautiful family home which is open for a select number of private events each year is exquisite. A stunning orangery filled with chandelier’s and palms, ruined castle walls with vines creeping along the stone work, a stunning aquamarine pool, hidden gems are around every corner in this delight of a garden. The bride says “I was inspired by the venue and by my dress. The venue’s blooming gardens were the perfect setting for a fairytale wedding and my dress was very feminine and romantic, with a soft silhouette and delicate hand-sewn bedding and flowers. Plus, I have always loved soft shades of pink and blush roses! I wanted my wedding to feel very delicate, natural and romantic.”
The couple had just 8 of their closest family at the wedding. An intimate ceremony took place overlooking the pool with their 2 adorable nieces as flower girls leading the way. After the ceremony the family spent their time wandering through the garden while the bride and groom spent time with photographer Katrina Bartlam exploring the grounds including a romantic rowing boat trip on the water. The couple enjoyed drinks with their guests in the orangery, surrounded by enormous palms and beautiful views. Cake cutting, a grazing platter and sparklers finished off their small and intimate wedding, just 4 hours from start to finish and perfect in every way.
On the venue the bride says: “We couldn’t have dreamed of a better venue! Euridge is romantic every way you turn. When I saw the venue photos, I was attracted to fairytale-like atmosphere of the place, it has a lot of different scenery and photo spots: water fountains, castle ruins, an amazing stone archway with a hanging chandelier, perfect gardens, and a beautiful boat house. Every hidden corner is incredible in Euridge! Due to the pandemic and distance, we never got to see the venue personally before the wedding. But, the amazing pictures of other weddings and the assurance from my incredible team of suppliers gave me confidence that this was the perfect place for our wedding!”
This was such a great example of a couple overcoming the multiple obstacles that covid threw their way and managing to have a truly beautiful wedding even with so many restrictions in place.
From the Bride, Daniella: All of our wedding plans changed completely! We had to postpone the wedding date several times and even change the location (which turned out to be even better, we absolutely loved our new venue!) At some point we knew we just wanted to get married in a beautiful place and enjoy the day with our closest family. We truly enjoyed the intimacy of the wedding and every detail we added to the day was just for us to enjoy! After the whole change of plans due to covid, our wedding day turned out to be even better than what we expected. The long wait made the day feel even more special! In an intimate setting, we were able to focus on ourselves and our vows, which was the most special and emotional moment of our wedding day. We really enjoyed every minute!
Aren’t these two the absolute cutest?! We couldn’t love this charming Cotswolds wedding any more than we already do. Of course, we do have a penchant for English countryside weddings.
