How To Choose Wedding Shoes
When it comes to choosing your wedding shoes, always go with your heart.
Some brides and grooms choose to pick their shoes first, others their wedding outfits. The benefit of choosing your outfit first is that you can then try and go for the correct height for your hemline. Alternatively, you may wish to wear a pair of killer heels that need to be on show, which may sway your choice of a shorter dress/trouser style.
It’s also good to think about the activities on your wedding day, which may make some wedding shoes impractical. For example, getting married in a field? Stilletos may not be the most practical choice. Likewise, maybe you want to hit the dancefloor hard. Go for dancing shoes or bring a pair of flats to swap over.
Don’t forget your wedding season, if it’s set to be cold consider warm, cosy footwear. If you are marrying on a beach, barefoot or flip flops may be for you.
When it comes to colour and style, don’t be shy of letting your personality shine. You don’t have to wear white or ivory, be bold, be you and be in love with your wedding shoes.
Considerations to think about:
- Comfort
- Height
- Weather/season
- Colour/Fabric
And last but not least, you don’t have to buy a new pair. Wear shoes you own, buy preloved or borrow a pair, not only is this more eco-friendly but can help save on your wedding budget too.
There we have it, all the wedding shoe ideas you need, as well as my top tips on choosing your wedding footwear. Yay!
